Drum Circle Directory ("we", "us", "our") uses artificial-intelligence ("AI") and other automated systems as part of how we build, operate, and improve drumcircledirectory.com and related services (the "Service"). We believe in being upfront about it. This page describes, in plain language, where AI is used, what it means for the content you see, and what your rights and responsibilities are. This disclosure supplements — and is incorporated into — our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Disclaimer. In the event of a conflict, the Terms of Service control.
1. Where We Use AI
We use AI and automated tooling for tasks that may include:
- Blog and editorial content. Many articles, guides, city overviews, rhythm explainers, and how-to posts are drafted, outlined, expanded, summarized, translated, or edited with the assistance of large language models. Some posts are substantially machine-generated; others are human-written and machine-edited; others are entirely human-written. We do not always label the exact ratio on individual posts.
- Cover images and illustrations. Some cover images, hero images, category art, and inline illustrations are produced with generative image models or are stock photography. Any depiction of a person, venue, event, or product produced by an image model is illustrative only and is not a photograph of a real person, place, or event unless expressly captioned as such.
- Listing enrichment. AI may be used to normalize, format, deduplicate, translate, summarize, tag, categorize, geocode, or auto-fill fields on directory listings, including drum circles, teachers, schools, shops, retreats, and events.
- Search, ranking, and recommendations. Automated systems (including embedding models, ranking heuristics, and LLMs) help decide which listings, cities, and posts to surface to you, in what order, and with what summary snippets.
- Moderation and safety. Automated systems help detect spam, abuse, fraud, duplicated listings, prohibited content, risky domains, and potential impersonation. Human review may or may not follow.
- Support, email, and notifications. Some replies, transactional emails, digest newsletters, and in-app prompts may be drafted, translated, or summarized with AI assistance.
- Metadata and SEO. Titles, meta descriptions, alt text, schema.org markup, breadcrumbs, and structured data may be generated or refined by AI.
2. AI Output Is Not Advice And Can Be Wrong
AI systems, including the ones we use, can produce output that is inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, biased, misleading, or entirely fabricated ("hallucinated"). AI output on the Service — including blog posts, summaries, city guides, rhythm and instrument information, translations, recommendations, images, and captions — is provided for general informational and entertainment purposes only. It is not medical, mental-health, psychological, therapeutic, fitness, nutritional, legal, financial, tax, immigration, travel, safety, or professional advice of any kind. Do not rely on AI output for decisions that could affect your health, safety, finances, legal position, or well-being. Always verify independently and consult a qualified, licensed professional.
3. Depictions Of People, Places, And Businesses
AI-generated images and text on the Service are not intended to depict any specific real person, event, business, or venue unless explicitly stated. Any resemblance is coincidental. We do not represent that any teacher, facilitator, business, or organizer shown or described in AI-assisted content endorses us or has reviewed the material. If you believe AI-assisted content on the Service depicts, names, or misrepresents you or your business in a way that is inaccurate or harmful, contact legal@drumcircledirectory.comand we will review promptly.
4. Third-Party AI Providers
We rely on third-party AI infrastructure (for example, large-language-model and image-model providers accessed through hosted APIs and gateway services) to power the features described above. Your interactions with AI-powered features may be transmitted to and processed by those providers under their own terms and privacy policies. We use commercially reasonable efforts to select providers who contractually agree not to use your inputs to train their public, general-purpose models, but we cannot guarantee the practices of every upstream provider at every point in time. Do not submit information to any AI-powered feature (search, chat, form fields, uploads) that you would not want processed by a third-party service.
5. Your Content And AI Training
As described in our Terms of Service, when you submit User Content (listings, reviews, photos, messages, prompts, etc.) you grant us a license to host, display, adapt, and process that content to operate and improve the Service. That license includes the right to use your User Content to train, fine-tune, evaluate, and improve our own models and automated systems that power the Service (for example, ranking, moderation, deduplication, summarization, and translation). We do not sell your User Content to third parties for the purpose of training their independent, general-purpose AI models. Our use of personal information is further described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Automated Decisions
Some decisions on the Service are automated — for example, whether a listing is flagged as spam, whether an email is treated as risky, whether a claim request is auto-approved, or how listings are ranked. These decisions are notlegally binding and do not produce legal or similarly significant effects for you within the meaning of Article 22 of the EU/UK GDPR. If you believe an automated decision has affected you unfairly, email privacy@drumcircledirectory.comand we will review manually.
7. Labeling
We may — but are not required to — label AI-assisted content with tags such as "AI-assisted", "AI-generated", "AI-illustrated", "Auto-translated", or "Machine-summarized". The absence of a label does not mean content was produced without AI assistance. You should assume that any editorial content, cover image, summary, translation, or auto-completed field on the Service may have been produced or modified with AI.
8. Prohibited Uses Of Our AI Features
You agree not to use AI-powered features of the Service to:
- Generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit involving minors, or that infringes intellectual-property or publicity rights.
- Impersonate real people, businesses, or organizations, or create deceptive deepfakes.
- Generate spam, mass reviews, fake listings, or content designed to manipulate rankings.
- Scrape, copy, resell, or use our AI outputs to build, train, or benchmark a competing product or model.
- Circumvent safety filters, guardrails, or rate limits.
Violations may result in immediate suspension, termination, and referral to law enforcement, as described in our Terms of Service.
9. No Warranties; Limitation Of Liability
AI-assisted content and features are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to any AI-generated or AI-assisted content or feature is limited as set out in the Limitation of Liability section of the Terms of Service.
10. Changes
We use AI features that evolve quickly. We may update this disclosure to reflect new tools, providers, or practices. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised disclosure.
